Mount Semeru


HEIGHT 3,676 m LOCATION East Java


Semeru is Java’s highest peak and has been active for decades.

This giant belches black clouds of volcanic ash and sand on a regular bsis, sometimes as often as every ten minutes.

Mount Merapi

HEIGHT 2,978 m LOCATION Central Java & Yogyakarta

Merapi, which literally means “Mountain of Fire”, is 38 m lower than it was prior to its most recent eruption but it still Indonesia’s active volcano. Thankfully, for the moment, it is open for hiking once more.

Mount Kerinci


HEIGHT 3,805 m location West Sumatra

Most of the KErinci Seblat National Park is located in Jambi Province, however, the peak itself lies in West Sumatra. As huge as it undoubtedly is, Mount Kerinci is not so difficult to climb and offers fantasrtic views from its summit.

Mount Agung



HEIGHT 3,142 m LOCATION Bali

Local folklore has it that when the gods made mountains for their thrones , they placed the highest peak in the east of the island, the direction honour for the Balinese. Indeed, every temple on the island has its own shrine dedicated to the spirit of Mount Agung.

Mount Carstenz

HEIGHT 4,884 m LOCATION Papua

Mount Carstenz or Puncak Jaya, which means “Victorious Peak”, Is the highest mountain in Indonesia. You’ll need rock-climbing skills in order to conquer it, as well as several thousand dollars to pay for the privilege.

Mount Rinjani

HEIGHT 3,726 m  Location Lombok
