Ternate
A spice heaven, the tiny island of ternate was fought over by many
nations during the colonial era. Ancient forts and various war artifacts remain
standing, despite the visible erosion of their former glory due to lack of
maintenance. Three highly popular historical attractions are the Tolukko Fort,
the grave of the Sultan Baabullah and the Ternate Keraton.
