This Hindu-temple complex is located on the slopes of Mount Uangaran, around 45 km from Semarang. The temple is thought to date back to the eight-century Sanjaya-Dynasty era. Gedong Songo (which means nine buildings) consist of nine temples, however only five are still standing, These are spread across an open fields surrounded by pine trees.
