Hot Spring in Taiwan

Hot Spring Havens

The Japanese occupation of Taiwan left behind more than just sorrow. On a brighter note, the Japanese habit of bathing in hot springs as a tried and tested way of relieving stiffness was passed on to the people of Taiwan. There is no need to travel by car for hours into the mountains to enjoy heated dip though, as a number of hot-springs spas are located close to Taipei. Beitou is much liked by locals because it only takes about half an hour to reach. Another popular locations is Wulai, which lies around 90 minutes from Taipei.
